Approach

We rebuilt the camera around a single, calm viewfinder.

Every flow was mapped from opening the app to sharing a photo, and anything that didn’t earn its place was cut. Manual controls moved into one swipe-up drawer, and light readings became a soft halo instead of numbers.

Result

Taking a good photo now feels effortless, and people stay.

The redesign shipped in a single release. Week-one retention nearly doubled, and the word reviewers used most changed from “confusing” to “calm.”

Feedback

“I’ve worked with a lot of designers, but Alex operates on a different level. The attention to micro-interactions and the way the whole experience just flows — it’s rare to see that kind of craft.”
